Radiated Emission Test
The radiated emission test is an EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) test that aims to measure the level of electromagnetic waves emitted by a device into its surroundings. Through this test, it is evaluated whether devices create interference with other electronic systems in the environment. Devices must pass this test in order to obtain CE, FCC and similar compliance certifications.
Test Structure and Features
- Electromagnetic radiation measurement between 30 MHz and 1 GHz, or higher
- Controlled test environment carried out in a semi-anechoic chamber
- Distance-based measurement, generally from 3 meters or 10 meters
- Special test equipment such as spectrum analyzer, EMI antenna and turntable is used
What Is Its Purpose?
This test is carried out to measure the risk of devices interfering with the operation of other equipment by emitting uncontrolled electromagnetic energy into their surroundings. It is of great importance for product safety in sensitive areas such as medical devices, communication equipment and automotive electronics. This test is mandatory for placing products that comply with international regulations on the market.
Compliance with Standards
Our tests are carried out in accordance with widely accepted international standards such as EN 55032, CISPR 22, ANSI C63.4 and MIL-STD-461. Measurements performed in our semi-anechoic chambers are supported by high-precision equipment and documented with detailed reporting.
Why Is It Important?
Electromagnetic disturbances emitted by devices may cause nearby electronic systems to malfunction or fail. This situation may create critical risks, especially in sensitive sectors such as healthcare, aviation and defense. Through radiated emission tests, these risks are minimized, the device is ensured to operate compatibly with other products, and regulatory compliance certificates are obtained. In the market entry process, this test is one of the key foundations of safety and legal validity.
