Frequently Asked Questions
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is EMC testing?
EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) testing evaluates whether electronic devices operate without generating electromagnetic interference and whether they are resistant to interference from other devices. It is often mandatory for obtaining CE certification.
What is LVD testing?
LVD (Low Voltage Directive) testing checks the compliance of electrical products operating between 50-1000V AC or 75-1500V DC with safety standards. Insulation, isolation and grounding criteria are tested.
For whom is RF testing mandatory?
RF (Radio Frequency) testing is mandatory for manufacturers of devices that provide wireless communication. All products containing Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or GSM modules must undergo this test. The test result shows the product’s frequency compliance and interference level.
Which tests are required to obtain CE certification?
Depending on the structure of the product, tests such as EMC, LVD, RF and RoHS may be applied for CE certification. These tests ensure that the product complies with health, safety, environmental and user protection criteria. Test reports form the basis of the CE technical file.
How long does it take to prepare a test report?
The preparation time for test reports varies depending on the test type and number of products. For EMC, LVD and RF tests, a detailed technical report is generally prepared within 3–7 business days. Priority service is also available for urgent cases.
What happens if my product cannot obtain CE certification?
Products that cannot obtain CE certification cannot be placed on the European Union market. If nonconformities are detected during testing, the necessary corrections are recommended to the manufacturer and the tests are repeated. It is possible to make improvements by receiving consultancy during this process.
Which tests are required for products exported abroad?
Testing requirements may vary depending on the country of export. Compliance with regulations such as CE (EMC, LVD, RF) for the EU, FCC for the USA and ISED for Canada is required. Our laboratory has the competence to perform these international tests.
How should the product be prepared before testing?
The product to be sent for testing should be operational and as close as possible to the mass production version. It must be submitted completely with the necessary cables, adapter, user manual and technical information. Missing preparation items may extend the testing period.
